Bandung, July 30–31, 2025 – The Directorate of Information Technology Center (PuTI) at Telkom University has once again demonstrated its commitment to enhancing the quality of IT services by organizing a Penetration Testing (Pentest) and Kali Linux Training. The program was attended by PuTI’s internal security team with the main objective of strengthening their technical capabilities in detecting, preventing, and mitigating potential data breaches and sophisticated cyberattacks.
The training featured Mr. Aiman Alauddin Fadhlullah A. F. as the main instructor, a seasoned practitioner in the field of information security. Over the two-day session, he delivered comprehensive material on the use of Kali Linux, one of the most widely used Linux distributions for penetration testing and network security analysis.
Objectives and Benefits
The PuTI Directorate emphasized that information security is a fundamental pillar in Telkom University’s IT governance. Therefore, this training served as a strategic initiative to:
- Strengthen the security team’s ability to identify system vulnerabilities.
- Equip participants with technical skills to conduct real-world-based penetration testing.
- Ensure that applications and systems developed by PuTI maintain a high level of security.
- Foster a stronger culture of security awareness within the institution.
“With this training, we expect the PuTI security team to become more proactive in preventing data leaks and ensuring the reliability of applications used by the Telkom University academic community,” said Mr. Aiman Alauddin Fadhlullah during his opening remarks.
Implementation and Methodology
The two-day training combined both theoretical and hands-on sessions. On the first day, participants were introduced to the fundamentals of penetration testing, network security architecture, and techniques for identifying vulnerabilities. The second day focused on practical implementation using Kali Linux, covering installation, configuration, exploration of core tools, and simulation of attack-and-defense scenarios.
This blended approach ensured that participants not only gained theoretical understanding but also mastered practical skills ready to be applied in real working environments, particularly in safeguarding applications and IT infrastructure at Telkom University.

Strategic Partnership with TPCC
The training was conducted in collaboration with PT Telkom Prima Cipta Certi (TPCC), a long-standing strategic partner in supporting the enhancement of IT governance and security within Telkom University.
This collaboration is expected to continue through advanced training programs, security audits, and the implementation of relevant international standards, further solidifying Telkom University’s reputation as a higher education institution with reliable and secure IT governance.
Future Commitment
Through this initiative, PuTI Directorate reaffirms its commitment to continuously develop human resource capacity in the field of cybersecurity. Moving forward, PuTI plans to expand its training programs to include incident response, digital forensics, and the integration of security practices with internationally recognized IT management standards.
With this concrete step, Telkom University highlights its dedication to building a secure and reliable IT ecosystem that supports both academic and operational excellence.
